$46000, (appraised at $65,000.)
This is a special 1930's Grand, built in Germany by Bechstein. A few select concert grand pianos were designated to be used in European Concerts in the 1930's. After years in Europe, with the best of service, the piano was exported to Toronto in about 1950, The Mason Risch Factory rebuilt the piano, it was sold in Ontario and it was enjoyed there before coming to Victoria in 1980.

Keith Allison has known this piano since 1980, and has been tuning and servicing it ever since. This is one of the most musical grands he has encountered in his 45 years of piano work. Allison Piano has owned over 500 grands and serviced many more. We restored the principle 9' concert Steinway at the University of Victoria and two at the Victoria Conservatory of Music

Refinishing options:
$1500 - Enhancement of existing finish, by detailing obvious imperfections, and adding new black finish in worn areas to bring the appearance to a reasonable level.
$4600 - Complete Refinishing in satin or gloss lacquer.

We are nearing completion of touch regulation, to ensure performance stability and reliability. Now I have the opportunity to influence the destiny of this rare piano. The hammers are relatively new and the action parts are in very good condition. The soundboard is nicely preserved and overall crown and bearing measurements are good. The keyboard has the German Renner hammershanks and flanges. The piano is very stable in tuning due to it's fine pinblock and quality strings. After several solid tunings in 2016, we are confident it would travel well and remain in tune after delivery.

Allison Piano will include a day of service, tuning and voicing after delivery.
Over the next 3 years local service tunings are included. We offer a 5 year warranty with the piano.
